An unprecedented tour of South American marine life

Posted by jausubel on 04 Feb 2011 at 19:17 GMT

A huge thanks to the authors for synthesizing information from 450 sources, many hard to obtain, and making interest analyses, such as the regional comparisons.
I also appreciate the honesty about gaps in knowledge and prior scientific effort. The paper has enough material for an entire semester course on South American marine life. Students (and experts) going forward will be very lucky to begin with this baseline and set of questions.
