Short BiographyGanesh started his career with training as a Physicist from Department of Physics, Pune University, India. After a technical degree in computational sciences (M.Tech.) he chose to work towards his PhD thesis after being selected at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB). At CCMB, he worked on Mathematical and Computational Ecology as well his PhD topic: Computational Biology. As part of PhD work he worked on modeling protein structures as networks of interacting amino acids and discovered an interesting property of protein structures, viz., assortativity. After postdocs from TIFR-National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, India and Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Genetics (MPI-MG), he is presently working as a Scientist at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology.
